UFC Fight Night: Holm vs Correia
If you’re keen on watching two of the UFC’s most talented female fighters trade punches, make sure to watch UFC Fight Night on the 17th of June. As you’ll get to watch Holly Holm, who was the first UFC fighter to defeat the UFC’s poster girl Ronda Rousey, fight the tough talking Bethe Correia. Whilst Correia failed to beat Rousey herself, Correia still has an impressive professional record of 10 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw. Correia’s only other loss being to Raquel Pennington.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs Hunt
The next must watch fight which is between New Orleans native Derrick Lewis and New Zealander Mark Hunt, the latter of whom is known as the super Samoan, takes place on the 11th of June. This heavyweight fight has a high chance of ending in a knock out as Lewis has won 16 of his 18 wins by knockout. Whilst Hunt has ended his fights in a knock out on 9 separate occasions. Whilst Lewis boasts a far more impressive record, Hunt is no easy beat and has clocked up wins against household names such as Frank Mir, Stefan Struve, Roy “Big Country” Nelson, Ben Rothwell and Wanderlei Silva.
UFC on Fox: Weidman vs Gastelum
On the 22nd of July middle weight fighters Chris Weidman and Kelvin Gastelum are set to trade heavy handed blows at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York. Except a competitive brawl as both both men have won 13 out of their 16 professional fights and are on a fairly even playing field. Furthermore, the clash is set to impress audiences as Weidman is a former middleweight champion, whilst his opponent Gastelum won the Team Jones vs Team Sonnen season of The Ultimate Fighter.
UFC 214 : Daniel Cormier vs Jon Jones
On the 29th of July, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is set to face former title holder Jon Jones, for the second time. When Cormier and Jones first stepped into the octagon to face each other, back in January 2015, Jones defeated Cormier by unanimous decision. However, Jon “Bones” Jones who has a reputation for being the resident bad boy of the UFC quickly had his title stripped and was suspended from further fights after he was involved in a hit and run accident. Will Jones who is known for boasting the longest reach in the UFC reclaim the light heavyweight belt? Stay tuned to find out.
UFC Fight Night: Struve vs Volkov
If you’re interested in watching a Bellator heavyweight champion face off against the tallest fighter in the UFC, make sure to tune into UFC Fight Night on the 2nd of September. As you’ll get the opportunity to watch former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov take on Dutch born Stefan Struve. Volkov boasts an impressive professional MMA record of 28 wins and 6 losses. A staggering 18 of Volkov’s wins were knockouts, so there’s a very real chance that Volkov and Struve’s match up won’t go the distance. However, experienced UFC fighter Stefan Struve will prove a tough opponent to knock out as he’s also won 28 of his professional fights, 8 of which were knock outs and 17 of which were by submission. Will Volkov knock Struve out? Will Struve submit Volkov, with his ju-jujitsu skills? Only time will tell. So what are you waiting for?
